Mississippi River Sunset

“Traveling towards Nauvoo I wondered if we would ever arrive. The sun was setting, making my artist’s heart anxious. The last rays of light filtered through the trees and across the lily fields as we rounded another bend in the road where we discovered the perfect scene. I found great joy in that moment as I anticipated painting the glorious colors that I was enjoying in the warmth of the setting sun on Illinois Hwy 96, the Great River Road.”
