Fall in Zions

My most unusual Thanksgiving Day was the one I spent hiking in the quiet canyons of Zion National Park. I cherish the day and yet I would not choose to spend the holiday this way again.  I can’t look at this painting without realizing how much I have to be thankful for, the list is endless, even though the family I was missing on this day was the foremost in my mind.  They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. I hope we as people never have to lose the great freedoms and bounties of this land to appreciate them. I certainly gained a great deal more from my Thanksgiving Day than just a beautiful painting!
