April 2010

We find ourselves in sunny Arizona for the Oil Painters of America Nationals hosted at the LEGACY Gallery in Scottsdale. In conjunction with the show Scottsdale Artist School hosted a wet paint show.  We checked into the school and had panels stamped, then headed out for a good place to paint. We never found the Lost Dutchman State park, but found this beautiful location called Goldfield. You can read what I wrote about painting "en plein air" in 15 Bytes, an online magazine for artists.  You can't tell I am having a great time can you?

The OPA show is amazing.  Out of 2800 entries, only 219 were hung of which my painting entitled "Symbols of Life" is one!
